William Morris Patterns Get a Gold Makeover in Bobbi Beck’s New Wallpaper Line

William Morris gets a glow-up, and this time it’s metallic.

Bobbi Beck just launched a new William Morris Gold wallpaper collection that adds a metallic finish to some of the designer’s best-known patterns, including Strawberry Thief and Bough. The brand says the honeyed-gold surface adds depth and warmth while staying true to the original 19th-century Arts and Crafts designs.

The brand suggests styling the collection within a modern maximalist framework, pairing the wallpaper with deep, saturated colors and layered materials. The idea is for the wallpaper to act as a focal point rather than a background element.

“Morris’s patterns continue to inspire 160 years on; they resonate with a desire for authenticity and character in interiors that feels just as relevant now as it did then,” says James Mellan-Matulewicz, creative director at Bobbi Beck. “Reinterpreting these designs with gold brings a new layer of excitement, honoring the intricacy and originality of his work.”

The warm gold tone shifts with the room’s light, and the finish is intended to feel refined rather than ornate, enhancing the detail of Morris’s botanical patterns rather than overpowering them with color.

“Gold wallpaper brings a unique sense of warmth to a room; it doesn’t just sit on the wall, it interacts with light and the atmosphere around it,” Mellan-Matulewicz adds. “The subtle glow of the gold finish makes spaces feel richer and more inviting,”

These wallpapers are produced in-house using FSC-certified paper and toxic-free inks. Bobbi Beck also states that its design and production studio operates on 100 percent renewable energy. Shop the new collection here.
