Etsy is a marketplace, but it’s also a place for community and inspiration. You can follow your favorite shops and tag your favorite items, but you can also follow your favorite people to see what items they are curating on their profiles.

In the past, all you could do was have a super long list of favorited items with no ability to group items together. The updated Etsy Lists (or collections) feature acts like Pinterest boards/sections—you can now organize all your Etsy favorites like an influencer.

How to Add an Item to a List

I’ll show you how I use and organize my Etsy lists. First, get familiar with your favorites page. To reach this page, hit the heart icon at the top right of the screen. Then, to favorite and list your first item, do the following:

1. Search for an item you want to favorite.

Search for an antique item on Etsy like you normally do. In my vintage lamp search, I found this hand-painted parlor lamp.

2. Hit the heart icon inside the circle.

Add an Etsy item to your favorites by pressing the heart icon in the upper right hand corner of the image.

3. Hit the “Add to list” button on the bottom of the screen.

After you like an item, hit the “Add to list” button to organize the antique into a category.

UPDATE

Etsy now calls Etsy Lists “Collections.”

4. Add the item to an existing list or create a new list.

Create a new category or add the item to an existing list in your favorites.

List Ideas

You can organize your Etsy favorites however you please. This space can help you decorate a room, pick out holiday gifts, or serve as a mood board. Here are some general category ideas you could start on your page:

  • Gift Ideas for XYZ
  • Living Room Update
  • Things I Want to Buy

You could also add categories that relate to an antique era, like:

  • Art Deco Finds
  • Victorian Antiques
  • MCM Items

For me, I like to organize my Etsy favorites using specific categories for antiques that might stretch multiple eras. For example, here are some of my lists currently:

  • Art Glass
  • Lighting
  • Linens
