Chalk Paint End Table

antique washstand

Sometimes antique furniture is beyond saving. Well, we can keep the furniture, but maybe the original finish is so severely damaged that it needs to go.

This antique washstand had been well-loved for over 130 years, and moisture had compromised the finish. Something needed to be done to add life back into this piece.

Instead of sand and refinish, I opted to paint it with chalk paint, which is beginner-proof. The result is a perfect whimsical blue end table for a little boy’s room.
